Craps rules

Every game of Craps starts with a come-out roll. A come-out roll is the first roll of the dice in a betting round after the previous one has ended. The player who throws the come-out roll is called a shooter. While the shooter physically rolls the dice in a land-based casino, a “Roll” button can be pressed on an online casino website to perform the same action.

You’ll get a visual notification of the number rolled on your screen along with the HD video feed. The procession of the game depends on the outcome of the come-out roll. The come-out roll may lead to any one of the options.

Roll Outcome Action
You get a 7 or an 11 on your roll. Natural You win and get to roll the dice again.
You roll a 2, 3, or 12. Craps You lose. But the round is not over and you get to roll again.
You roll a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10. Point Roll the dice once more and hope you’ll hit the same number again to win.

Craps betting options

Now that you know how to roll and understand the actions needed to be taken based on the outcome, you’ll need to place the correct bets. In an Online Craps game, you’ll have to bet through a virtual betting table that appears on your screen during the betting period. You can place three bets, or types of bets, in a game of Craps.

  • Pass or Don’t Pass bets

The first bet you can place is either on “Pass Line” or the “No Pass Line”. Betting on the Pass Line bet means you think the shooter will win, while the No Pass Line bet means you think the shooter will lose. However, if the shooter rolls a 12 in the beginning, your bet is a Push, meaning you neither win nor lose.

  • Come or Don’t Come bets

You can only make a Come or Don’t Come bet once the shooter makes a point and needs to roll the same sum again.

If you place the Come bet, you win if a natural is rolled out but lose if the craps turn up. This bet works very much like the Pass Line bet — you win if the shooter rolls 7 again; if not, you lose. And similar to the Don’t Pass Line bet, the Don’t Come bet is considered a win if a 2 or 3 is rolled out; if it’s a 7 or 11, it’s considered a loss. Note that getting a 12 here is also counted as a Push.

  • Proposition bets

In the center of the Craps online table, you’ll see a different set of bets that are called one-roll bets. You can place these types of bets on any roll.

Bet Wins if
Any Seven The shooter rolls a 7
Any Craps The shooter rolls a 2, 3, or 12
Ace Deuce The shooter rolls a 3
Aces The shooter rolls a 2
Boxcars The shooter rolls a 12
Horn The shooter rolls a 2, 3, 11, or 12

That’s all there is to Craps. A few simple rules and some bet types to memorize. Once you get comfortable with them, you’ll master the game in no time.
